Jimmy Nelson

I stumbled upon this photographer on my Facebook news feed. The strange thing however that caught my attention was the subjects in his photography. I got really curious about it as you don't see a lot of people taking photo's of tribes in different locations of the world. However, once I figured out his name and found his website, my interest really began to grow in his work. Some of his more interesting work has gone into his series "Before They Pass Away". In this series he has traveled the world in order to see just how some of these tribes have managed to survive with their traditions and practices in tact as the world around them has evolved and changed drastically.
His video that I've listed before is fascinating to hear, from his British accent that adds character to his story and personallity down to him talking about living with the tribes and their curiosity of him and his equipment. It's worth the 13 or so minutes to watch.

Jimmy Nelson‘s dream had always been to create a visual document that reminds us, and the generations to come, of the “beauty of pure and honest living”. The aim of his latest project is to keep the traditions of the world’s last tribes alive for us to learn from.
